A visionary concept introduced by our Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi, represents a collective national mission. Achieving this vision requires whole-hearted participation from every Indian, regardless of their profession or their being a part of the “Government” or the “Private sector”. Health professionals, too, have a vital role to play in this journey.
Since independence in 1947, India has made remarkable strides in public health. From a life expectancy of just 32 years, and alarmingly high maternal and infant mortality rates, to combant deadly diseases like Smallpox and Polio, our nation has witnessed transformative progress. Epidemics such as cholera have either been eradicated or brought under control.
Today, the Indian healthcare sector not only serves its own citizens but also extends affordable and high-quality medical care to people across the globe. India has emerged as a global hub for healthcare, inspiring hope and improving the quality of life. Whether it’s surviving cancer, achieving parenthood through assisted reproductive technologies, or receiving life-saving interventions like artificial heart implants, Indian healthcare is making the seemingly impossible, possible!
Once lagging behind global medical advancements, India is now at PAR with—if not ahead of—many countries. However, to sustain and enhance this status, strategic planning and collaboration are essential.
As we look ahead to 2047, it is imperative for all stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem to align their efforts and move forward together.
In this spirit, we are organizing in Association with THE MEDI MEDIA PEOPLE, a dialogue titled “Sawal Sehat Ka” under the aegis of the Express Group, bringing together public and private healthcare stakeholders. The objective is to facilitate an open conversation where the government can articulate its vision for Viksit Bharat, and private sector participants can contribute their insights and strategies for achieving this shared national goal.
